I am a voice teacher and coach in Chico, I have taught students across California video live video chat platforms. As someone who started my own vocal instruction at age 7, I believe it is never too early to start learning the basics of vocal health across genres. I'm passionate about seeing my students grow as singers, and as human beings.
As a vocalist, I'm known for my versatility, and have completed a BFA in Musical Theatre from Cal State Fullerton so that I would never have to choose just one genre. From 80's rock to Rodgers and Hammerstein, I love finding the vocal nuance that most suits each character I play, and making appropriate vocal as well as acting choices. As a teacher, I help my students do just that. I strive to create a safe learning environment where students can take artistic risks and have fun growing their voices, while managing them healthily and consistently. A focused and empathetic ear is always on the student.
I also am currently working towards an MS in Speech Language Pathology online through NYU Steinhardt. I am constantly amazed at the power of the science behind the artistry in this field, and seek to incorporate a working knowledge of the respiratory, phonatory, resonance and articulatory systems into my lessons. Smart artists are the best artists.
As a NATS Associate Member, my students also have access to benefits such as access to NATS Auditions and Competitions. Learn more at www.nats.org.
